New Works
After a visit to Yosemite National Park in the early 90's, I made this work by obsessively layering lengths of waxed paper on the studio floor and then attaching the roll to a purchased plastic holder. After lifting it up and screwing it to the studio wall, I was gratified to experience again the sublime water fall, simulated now by the luminous spill of a very ordinary material.
The work was remade in 2017 for an exhibition titled Tactile: Function Re-envisioned at Pasadena City College. When it was removed this time, I prepared a way to roll it up and save it for a future installation.
